Hello, I’m Hannah,

I offer a warm, grounded and trauma-informed therapeutic space for adults and young people 18+ who are struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficult childhood experiences, trauma or grief.

My work brings together integrative counselling approaches, hypnotherapy, and nature-based walk-talk sessions. Everything is paced gently and shaped around what feels safe and helpful for you.

I work with clients in Blackawton near Totnes, at The Devon Clinic in Paignton, online via Zoom, and outdoors through walk-talk therapy along the South Devon coast and countryside.

About Hannah Hunt

I work with adults and young people aged 18+ who may appear to be coping on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Some people come to therapy feeling quite self-aware, while others are only just beginning to notice the emotional impact of their life experiences. Wherever you are on that journey, you are welcome.

I have a particular interest in childhood trauma, emotional neglect, bereavement and grief, and complicated family relationships. These experiences can shape how we relate to others, respond to stress, and see ourselves, often in ways we are not fully aware of. I also support clients with anxiety, overwhelm, loss, and a quieter sense that something just isn’t right.

I work in a trauma-informed, collaborative way, offering a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space. As a qualified hypnotherapist and counsellor, I tailor the work to you, using counselling, hypnotherapy and creative approaches to support insight, emotional processing and meaningful change at a pace that feels right.

Hypnotherapy sessions are a blend of talking therapy and hypnosis. Hypnosis is simply a natural state of mind where you relax into a comfortable state of awareness. As your body relaxes and your mind becomes more focused, you can gain deeper insight into the root cause of an issue. This heightened state of awareness allows you to explore underlying thoughts, emotions, or experiences, helping you make meaningful changes.

"EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) uses bilateral stimulation—eye movements, tapping, or sound—to help the brain reprocess distressing memories, reducing emotional intensity and forming adaptive associations. Highly structured, it desensitises emotional triggers from past trauma. When combined with hypnotherapy and talk therapy, it creates a powerful, multi-layered approach to healing."

You are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to support and guide you in making meaningful connections between past and present to foster healing. Using an integrative approach that includes hypnotherapy, EMDR, and talking therapy, we will work together to bring unhealed parts of yourself into harmony, creating a deeper sense of wholeness and well-being.

Confidentiality is fundamental to our work. Your privacy and trust are my top priorities, and all sessions remain strictly confidential.

Who I Work With

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy for adults and young people. Some clients come with specific concerns, while others seek deeper self-exploration and growth. My approach is flexible and adapts to your individual needs.

  • Short-term therapy (4-6 sessions) is recommended for specific issues like insomnia.

  • Deeper work (6-12 sessions) is advised for more complex concerns.

  • Phobia Fix 1-2 sessions

I work efficiently and will never keep you in therapy longer than necessary.

The initial consultation is for you to give me a brief overview of what has brought you to therapy and to see if I am the right therapist for you to reach your goal.

What can I expect during a therapy session?

After your initial 15-minute consultation, your first session is an opportunity to share your story and what has brought you to therapy. I will take a detailed history of your experiences and key life events to gain a deep understanding of your needs. This session is a safe, open space where you can talk freely.

By the end of our first appointment, I will recommend the most effective therapeutic approach for you. If you are seeking hypnotherapy, we will begin this process in your second session. Through a combination of talking therapy and hypnotherapy, I aim to help you create lasting change.

Each session lasts 60 to 90 minutes, allowing us to explore your concerns in depth. Therapy is a collaborative process, tailored to your needs, and provides a supportive, non-judgmental space for growth and healing.​
